Eunice Daag Jou Uit Om Te Dans In Eerste Enkelsnit

Eunice Invites You To Dance Along With Her Debut Single

EUNICE, a passionate brunette with powerful vocals and a relentless passion for music, has been working very hard over the past four years to establish herself as an Afrikaans artist. Her debut single, TRY MY, has just been released and promises to capture the hearts of music lovers and dance enthusiasts from across the country.

TRY MY, written by Douw Steyn (DECA) and William de Bruin and produced by Son Records, can be described as an upbeat Afrikaans pop song. The song complements the newcomer’s soothing tone perfectly and will resonate with audiences of all ages. “The single tells the story of a girl who wants someone to ask her to dance. It is about that ‘will he or won’t he’ scenario that often transpires between a guy and a girl. She, however, also makes it clear that she will not be waiting forever,” shares the singer. “Although I am currently in a loving relationship, I have also been in similar situations in the past. I knew that women would be able to identify with the theme. The target market is typically audiences who like to dance, so hopefully the song will give someone the courage to ask… you never know!”

The track has an irresistible beat that will lure listeners to the dance floor. It also has a light-hearted and carefree message, which makes it ideal for anyone who wants to let their hair down and enjoy themselves. A music video of the song, is also scheduled for later in the year.

According to Eunice, music has always been part of who she is. She could sing even before she could talk and has been performing since the age of six. The artist won the Dros Idols competition when she was still in high school, which was the start of big things for her music career. “To be on stage and see how people react to my music, makes me happy. I want to share a bit of myself through my music and see the stage as my second home,” she says.

In 2015 she auditioned to become part of Douw Steyn’s music project, Afrikaans: Herlaai and was selected to be one of the members of this Ghoema nominated group. This has been one of the highlights of her career so far. “Douw Steyn has opened many doors in my singing career and I will always be thankful to him,” says the artist.

Over the past few years, she has had many live performances and her renditions of old favourites like Die Gang and Ek Verlang Na Jou, was play listed on big radio stations such as GrootFM and RSG. She has also made guest appearances in shows like, Jukebox and JAM. Three of Afrikaans: Herlaai’s music videos, Ek Wil Jou Ken (with Whaden Johannes and Hemelbesem), Somerkersfees and Kinders Van Die Wind can still be seen on kykNET.

Eunice enjoys listening to a wide variety of music, but lists as her biggest inspiration. She would also love to work with musicians like Coleske, Shania Twain, Bouwer Bosch, Karen Zoid, Riana Nel and Liezel Pieterse someday.

When she is not on stage, she manages her own music school, EuniceSangskool, where she teaches students to make the best of their vocal abilities. Furthermore, she is also busy obtaining her degree in Education from Unisa. The singer performed at the Piekfijn Food and Wine Festival in September and will be part of the Jakaranda Kinderhuis Liggiefees in December.

EUNICE has a rich and colourful voice, which is refreshing in a genre that runs the risk of being very ordinary. TRY MY is the perfect combination of feel good lyrics and a catchy melody and not only showcases her unique vocal ability, but also invites fans to dance along.
